Narrative

In 1985, devoted Father Bill Furlong uncovers disturbing secrets hidden by a local monastery and reveals a shocking truth about himself. Cillian Murphy is a fan of Claire Keegan, the author of the original novel. He remembers reading her novel Foster on a train and having to put a hood over his face because he was crying. Cillian Murphy is absolutely amazing in this film, as I expected

Watching this film, my eyes were completely glued to the screen from start to finish. The amount of scenes without dialogue but containing so much atmosphere and emotion is just incredible. But the emotion he shows in this film and the way he carries himself through body language and facial expressions is just wonderful. He really is one of the best actors of his generation.

Emily Watson is excellent as Mother Superior

The tension he brings to every scene is fantastic. It really shows how horrible some of the nuns were at the time. This film had a perfect runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes. It even felt longer because I was so absorbed in it.

The soundtrack and cinematography were so simple yet so effective

Both of them really brought a lot to the film and made the necessary corrections. Overall, the film was really amazing and very enjoyable to watch. I would love to watch more films like this in the future. It was also great to learn more about the history of my country, even if it is a darker side.
